453 – Account Manager /  Based in Portsmouth

£22k - £ 26k + Commission and Benefits, Free Parking, Training, and Development – OTE up to £30k per annum

Reports to Sales Manager

My client, a software tech company is looking for an account manager to join them on looking after their accounts and where you will have responsibility for a group of client accounts and growing them and ensuring they grow in value for the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as an ambassador for the company always ensuring best in class customer service
  • Ensure class leading relationships are created and maintained with all accounts.
  • Ensure retention of business point of sale and renewal.
  • Work closely with clients to identify and fulfil their needs
  • Deliver weekly, monthly, and quarterly status and results presentations
  • Regularly evaluate the quality of our service and work to implement necessary solutions.
  • Use customer relationships to identify improvements and additions to product features, work closely with management and development teams to implement change.
  • Assist in the training and support of junior members of the Account Management team where required.
  • Complete core essential Account Administration tasks including but not limited to:
  • Service and Retention of client accounts
  • Creation, Administration and Removal of client accounts
  • Fulfilment of reporting where required by the business.
  • Answering customer service enquiries by telephone and email.
  • Ensure clients derive maximum value from our services.


Experience and skills required:

  • Sales experience in a B2B environment  
  • Dynamic personality able to effectively engage and influence a variety of audiences at all levels of a business
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills
  • A focus on relationships, able to gain trust through communication, expectation setting and completion of planned deliverables
  • Business acumen, sound decision making, analytical and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment; a consultative approach to managing complex client relationships
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities, balancing client deliverables on multiple projects as well as internal obligations
  • Strong computer literacy with a working knowledge Microsoft office suite.
    Ability to work under pressure
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and resilience
