Business Development Executive
£28,000 – £30,000 Basic + Uncapped Commission
Full Time | Monday–Friday | 8:30am–5:30pm
The Salespeople Agency is recruiting on behalf of a specialist payroll training provider experiencing consistent growth and investment. This is a commercially focused Business Development Executive role with real substance — blending new business generation, strategic account growth and consultative solution selling within a compliance-led environment. The Role
This position is responsible for generating new opportunities while managing and growing an existing client base. The successful individual will promote a full portfolio of payroll training products and resources to organisations ranging from SMEs through to complex, multi-site businesses.
You will:
Lead Generation & Prospecting

Identify and target organisations requiring payroll training support

Generate opportunities via cold outreach, LinkedIn engagement, networking and events

Qualify prospects around payroll complexity, compliance exposure and system requirements
Consultative Selling

Conduct detailed payroll needs assessments

Engage HR Directors, Payroll Managers and Finance decision-makers

Understand compliance challenges including RTI submissions, pension auto-enrolment, statutory payments and HMRC obligations

Present solutions that align with operational and regulatory requirements
Account Management & Growth

Act as a trusted point of contact for assigned clients

Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities

Prepare tailored proposals and pricing structures

Proactively manage retention and engagement
Revenue & Reporting

Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets (new and existing business)

Maintain accurate CRM records and pipeline forecasts

Monitor conversion ratios and commercial performance metrics
You will work closely with operations and customer success teams to ensure seamless onboarding and a strong client journey.

The Package
Basic Salary: £28,000 – £30,000
Uncapped Commission: Open-ended structure paid across all incoming and outgoing sales, with lower and upper rates applied. Earnings are genuinely unlimited.
