Reports to Managing Director 

Our client, a 20-year established Lighting Manufacturer and distributor are recruiting for a business development manager for growth roles nationally to maintain existing business and drive new business.

Ideal candidate:

  • Well presented, reliable and motivated, with exceptional communication skills.
  • Has the ability to engage with customers via phone, email, and video calling, developing relationships in key industries and sectors. Training and learning materials will be provided for the role, with your first 6-months commission guaranteed.
  • Sales and lighting industry experience preferred though not essential, with a keen attitude to learn and develop. You will be working independently on a day-to-day basis and will be required to travel to various client or site meetings, so you should be flexible around client & project demands.

Job role:

  • Creating sales opportunities from prospecting calls and emails, collecting any inbound leads generating from marketing, and feeding back to them analytics on our CRM system. You will have access to LinkedIn sales navigator, with a separate lead generation tool to fast-track finding new leads and live projects.
  • Using existing leads in your region via our CRM system to generate sales opportunities, logging progress and projects.
  • Making outbound calls and emails to prospects to follow up on live, and future projects.
  • Collaborating with colleagues on projects for any necessary support and guidance to ensure your projects are delivered to the best of your ability for your clients.
  • Co-ordinating your sales manager for any necessary support in key meetings or tender processes.
  • Reviewing monthly sales figures with your sales manager, conveying key customer comments, market trends and product suggestions to help improve Edge Lighting’s service to our clients. Discussing any necessary support, guidance, or training to help you succeed in your role.
  • Your projects will be quoted from the sales office and will be your responsibility to check these quotations are correct to the project specification before you send these.
  • Understanding the different roles our clients play in a project, their needs, project timeframes and the drivers that could turn the sales opportunity into an order.
